Would this Work?

And I'm asking because I think the previous owner mite have changed it, but I'm not sure.

If just after warm up and while cruising, the temp gauge needle sits between the bottom and the first tick, then it has a 160. If it is between the first and second tick, it's a 180. (this is on a 1993 gauge that has ticks at 1/8 increments-I am using your sig as reference for the year)
