Should I buy?

Hi, I'm new here, and I have a question. I currently have a 5.0L mustang, but want a camaro. I met a guy who wants to trade, because he wants a 5.0. Well, I test drove his car and it has 4.10 gears and accelerated quick. The problem is when I gunned it foot on the pedal, and the RPMs got close to redline, the transmission tried to shift but missed repeatedly and wouldn't engage until I let off the pedal. The guy said it's because it has 4.10 gears in the rear and the computer hasn't been programmed for it. Is this true or bull****?

If it's an auto and has not been programmed for the gears, then yeah, it is not going to shift correctly.

Yea, it's a 4l60e. So what he says is true? How much does it get cost to get it tuned?

You can get a cheap mail order tune that will tune for the gears as well as a few other things for around 150 bucks. It is possible that you can just have the gears tuned accordinally in the PCM and that should be cheaper, maybe around 50 dollars.
