Who here is using an air pressure gauge. Install?
Who here is using an air pressure gauge. Install?
Autometer makes one and it's mechanical. How do you install this thing.Do you put somewhere between the filter and the intake.

Re: Who here is using an air pressure gauge. Install?
Where gonna find out now.I just ordered a trans temp gauge and the air pressure gauge. It comes with a 6ft nylon tube and a 1/8" npt fitting and a 1/4" adapter fitting.I ordered it on summit.I called to try and get some directions on how this thing installs but they didn't know either.I guess there 24hrs.
I wonder what ther 6' tube is for,Oh well,I guess were gonna find out.I think it might go through the intake some how.

What air pressure are you going to measure with it?
Is it a vaccum or boost gauge? According to your signature I can not see that you are running any supercharger (or turbo), so a boost gauge would do you no good.
Anyway, you hook it up to your intake manifold thru the supplied nylon tube.

I'll have to ask the same question.... what are you trying to do? A search of the AutoMeter website only turns up some 150psi air pressure gauges, and I can't think why they would be usefull on your intake. I think you mean vacuum gauge?????
Re: Who here is using an air pressure gauge. Install?
It's not a boost gauge though.I'm not sure theres a diff between a Boost gauge or an Air Pressure gauge. Why wouldn't an air pressure gauge benifit a na setup.I'm calling autometer now.
Re: Who here is using an air pressure gauge. Install?
I called autometer and you guys were right.I wouldn't use an air pressure gauge but a vaccum gauge.I learn something new on this site everytime I'm on it.If it wasn't for this site I wouldn't know pretty much jack s#6$.
So, What do you think kind of gauge I should get anyway Vaccum,Oil Temp, water temp or Fuel Pressure.I kinda rule the FP gauge out since it's 200 big ones.Does the scanmaster perform any of these functions.I might just buy that.

Well turns out the air pressure gauge is for air brakes and that,so I won't be needing that.
Rice? I'm buying a trans temp gauge and a Vaccum gauge,not a indiglo s#@$
gauge that dosen't tell you anything cause it's a stock crappy car.
BTW I have an Emission legal & Complient car that runs High 12's,alot of people can't say that w/ out any use of forced induction or nitrous.
I'm still learning alot about cars man, even the great ones started somewhere.
