i have a 97 z28 with 2.73 gears at 100000 miles and i hardly any low end tourqe when i floor the car from a dead stop it spins about halfway trough first if im lucky but it picks up power at about 4-6 grand the car feels like its running fine no misses or anything i am going crazy trying to figure it out can any one help me and also i ran a 15.1 at 93 miles per hour with a 2.3 0-60ft time what the heck is wrong with my car?????

 

your gearing is meant for more top speed rather than for low end....more to some different gears and ull see the torque come around!

 

Unless you are at high altitude something is seriously wrong with your car.Even at 1900 feet stock with a heavier vert with same gears I could run mid 14s at higher mph with similar or worse 60fts.
And I think my car might not be running optimal.

I would start with basics..fuel filter,air filter,plugs.possibly wires.
Clean maf wires too especially if you have an oil type air filter.

I just put in a new tps yesterday and think it helped a bit.

Other ideas are new coil/coil wire and professional cleaning of the injectors.

And of course the infamous optispark.My car doesn't seem to misfire or anthing just seems that sometimes it pulls really strong and sometimes it doesnt' seem to pull at all.These 2.73 are terrible lazy gears and for sure I will be changing mine out for 3.42 I think and possibly adding a nice stall too.3.23 wouldn't be too bad but someone should be shot for putting in 2.73 gears in a supposed muscle car but then gm wasn't exactly geniuses with their optipuke idea either.
