Re: Tourqe Arm / Noise

Tranny mount design or chassis mount design? If chassis mount, what type front connector - poly bushing or rod end? Fixed or adjustable pinion angle? In a 96? What kind of power are you making? Have you checked the tranny mount?

Re: Tourqe Arm / Noise

I am having the same problem, I have the UMI adjustable tunnel mount TA,
9" strange w/ detroit locker. My car darts over to the side of the road when I tap the gas and does the same when down shifting or letting of the gas.
Does any body have any ideas

I had a forward and reverse clunking with my BMR ta also. Make sure you get the bolts on the front of the ta good and tight, especially the bottom one. That took care of the issue I had with it.

Re: Tourqe Arm / Noise

Z96- Marlena took your message last week concering your problem. The message says you have already tried some tips per our advice. This means at one time we have talked to you about it. If Marlena feels the order is a vendor issue she does tell you to call the vendor since they made the sell. Since she doesnt build the parts or install them sometimes she does not know so she does suggest that.

As for not calling you back, I as well as my tech support have been attending the Thunder in the North show since Thursday and we have been out of the office. We have just returned to the office this morning. We are going threw messages today and we will return your call today.

On a side note on the noise, some noise can be expected when installing a set-up like this. We should be able to pin point and take care of most of it. But depending on how sensitive you are and your set-up you may notice some increase in road noise

Thanks,
Ryan

Re: Tourqe Arm / Noise

Suggestion.... turn of your "caps" lock. That's why your posts come out with a capital letter at the beginning of every word.

A torque arm mounted to the chassis is inherently noisy. You can pretty much expect the pinion lash to be audible when you put it in gear or in reverse. Its the nature of the beast.

But if the back end of the car seems to wander and dart all over the place, you have some sort of problem. Wandering would more likely be tied to the panhard rod. Have you checked the panhard rod bushings to make sure they are not worn out?
