Help w/ tourqe convertors
I am new to this board, I spend most of my time on 3rdgen.org. I am trying to get the most information I can about this topic because its one of the most important parts of a car. My question is this. Comp Cams, Pro Built Automatics, and some other places and they recomend a 2600 stall for the setup I am running. A 9.5 yank or vigilante is like 800 bucks, and ACT is around 600. A 9.5 or 10 is supposed to be better, lighter, easier on the transmission, and have more tourqe multiplication. I talked to a local shop about them building a 10in for around 400. The guy said that I wouldnt like it, and that I should go with a 12in, and it would be the same as a 10. I find this hard to believe. I am wanting to know your guys opionons. Should I got with a 12? just tell the guy i want a 10in, or cough up extra 200-250 for an ACT? thanks alot. I appreciate it.

This is more suited for 3rd Gen Tech, moving there.
