Whats better 3/8 or 7/16?

What are the better push rods? I have the option of 3/8 and 7/16 and need to know the pros and cons. I will buy the roller rockers for what ever one is better. Thanks in advance.

I'm getting 3/8" Chromoly PRs for my set up, seems to be popular.

just make sure a larger than stock diameter pr isn't going to have trouble with your rockers

1 piece hardened stock diameter PR's will provide more strength than you'll ever need unless you are building full out race car.

Need more information on the motor. Cam specs, spring specs, rpm range etc. It would not hurt anything to go to a 3/8" pushrod. I will be using them on my build. By the way the new LS7 motor has 3/8" pushrods. GM must think there is something to them.

The rocker options of 3/8 and 7/16 are for the size of the stud. Get 3/8 if you are leaving the stock studs in. Get 7/16 if you plan on replacing the studs and get 7/16 studs.

I think the OP is confused, and in turn the entire thread is confused...

Rocker studs, perhaps?

Yeah, 3/8" pushrods are thick. Heavy pushrods can contribute to valve float if you don't have enough spring pressure. On a solid lifter or racing engine, maybe that is a good idea. Do you guys mean 5/16" pushrods and maybe 7/16" rocker studs and rocker arms?

"Yeah, 3/8" pushrods are thick."

Not necessarily. Manton sells them with a .065" wall. Diameter plays the biggest role in pushrod stiffness than the thickness. Hmmmm I see the poster has a supercharger. Spintron testing has proven that the weight on the valve side contributes more to valve float than the weight on the pushrod side.
