What type of Headers?

I know you guys see this all the time. I have a 97 30th Anna, with a lightly moded LT1 engine. I want headers. I am not sure what to get. I have Hooker Cat-Back on it right now. Then do I get long tube or short tube? Whare is a good place to get them without spending a arm and a leg? Is it worth looking for used? Thanks alot!!

What, if any emissions requirements do you need to meet? Is there a visual inspection to verify the cats are in the stock location (Federal law, not always enforced)?

I live in Wisconsin. There is a one time emissions test. Other than that I think thats it.

If it's a summer time car and you don't have to pass a visual inspection you could go with a set of coated pacesetters and a catted Y pipe. If you're driving it during the winter and expect the headers to last more than a few years you'll probably want to invest in a better quality stainless steel header/y pipe setup.
