I am running a Yank 3000 ($679.POS) and it feels like stock. My fiance couldn't tell that I had even had it installed. Dam l wish I went with a PI 3500

Hello All,

I had changed to a 2400 stall when rebuilding engine. At first it was as most are saying a big difference. It feels like taking off in second gear and whenever I back up my wife says "what's wrong?" because it revs a little. I think factory is only 1400-1600 and it does effect mileage. It turns out though that drag racing is a lot more fun then I planned on. I wish now that I had gotten 2800 for that reason alone. I will probably end up in a year with unstreetable tires and a trailer for this car though.

Midwest 2800 stall, I like the feel of it better than stock(weird huh?)

I got it for $440+shipping too. I looked at the vigilante after everyone and their brother on here told me I should save up the money and get it. However I refuse to pay that for a converter. Check out www.raceconverters.com and see what they can do for you. Plus with the money you save on the midwest converter you can get a gear too, if you like, or just keep the extra money!

You will HATE a 2400. I have had my vig 3200 for years, and love it. My car use to drive 600miles a wk. When you put 373s in your stall will drop by 200-400rpms. I would go 2800-3600 noting lower and nothing higher. The converter is the best bolt on mod you can do, so long you buy the right one. You will have fun rippen m6s lol.

I would either go with a 2800 or a 3200.

This setup rocks!! I had a buddy with a 470rwhp blown mustang compliment me on how fast it is, and it's not even tuned yet! I also beat another buddies 94 Supra twin turbo from a 55 roll. He has HKS intake, HKS blow off valve, HKS front mount intercooler, Tanabe downpipe, HKS 3" exhaust and is running 14.5 PSI. I beat him by about 1.5 cars. This converter seems to really like the 3.23s. I'd say go for it, you'll be pleased.

I bought a lockup. Look on this page- http://www.raceconverters.com/iLockup.htm

Not sure on the spline, I think it may be thirty. Note that the prices listed have dropped. Get their 1-800 number and ask for Dennis, he can get you the latest price and answer all of your questions. I had such a great experience buying from them I try to tell everyone looking for a converter to at least check them out.

I have to agree with FastZinTennessee. This discussion has come up MANY times, and the general concecus is that people who buy converters with stalls below 3000 end up regretting it. This becomes even more true with your 3.73 gears (also stated above). Having a numerically higher gear ratio will tame the converter even more. If you're really more concerned with street manners, I'd suggest you go with a 3000-3200 stall. Your car will still be very tame.
