What should my fuel pressure be ?

What should my fuel pressure be ?

I'm running Ford SVO 24lb injectors and since I swapped them the car doesn't want to start at first.......

Turn the key to "run", but don't try and start it. Pump should prime to about 40psi and stop. When it stops, pressure should not drop off rapidly.

Start the engine, pull the vacuum line off the FPR. Correct pressure is 43.5psi. Anything within 41-47psi is within GM specs. Reconnect vacuum line, pressure should drop proportional to intake manifold vacuum - about an 8psi drop with a stock cam, less drop with a more aggressive cam.

Tape the gauge to the windshield. Take it out on the road, max RPM/full throttle and pressure should not drop below 40psi.

To see if a rapid drop in pressure when the fuel pump shuts off is causing extended cranking, cycle the key several times to run/off/run before turning it to "start". If it starts faster, you've found the cause. Then you need to determine why the pressure drops off rapidly.

Yeah I remember you saying that in the others guys post. Haven't tried it yet as I am out in the field now (ARMY). I was just curious because I read a few post the suggest that the ford SVO injectors are regulated at something different.

The Ford injectors are flow rated at a lower pressure (2.7bar = 39.15psi). The flow difference is only about 5.4% higher than rated, and should not require a tune. If it does, you would use 25.3 #/HR vs the stock 94-97 LT1 injectors programming of 24.9 #/HR. Insignificant.

Injuneer your wisdom and knowledge have once again saved another F-Body from running like a turd. I got back from deployment, tried multiple key turns before turning the engine over and it fired on a dime. Thank You

So, I'm guessing I pinched an O-ring on one of the injectors during install as that's the only thing I replaced before this problem happened. I don't have time this weekend but next I will pull them out and take a look then reinstall.
