I assume your talking about Ultra copper RTV by Permatex......But there is a copper spray. As far as the cam install, I used Right Stuff in a can for the intake plenum (kinda spendy) and gaskasinch on the timing chain cover. The timing chain cover don't even need anything though a lot of peole put them on dry as long as you torque it to specs and alternate. I liked the added insurance.

What are you looking to seal specifically?

Okay...depending on your gasket. I didn't use any sealer on my SLP's. Although I've heard of guys throwing some Ultra Copper on them. All you'll need is like I told you earlier. My brother in law always uses Ultra Gray on the intake manifold. Make sure you drop a good fat 1/4 in. bead on the thing and go about a half inch up the heads on each sides. Let the RTV sit for 15-20 minutes before throwing on the plenum.

It does matter. I would use the rtv "RED" silicone high temp.

Your friend is a homo. Use copper sealant on the front and the back of the block for sealing the intake, and then SPRAY your intake gaskets on both sides with copper spray gasket
