Question about orange thread sealer on GM parts........

I'm curious about what type of sealant that GM uses on some of it's parts. In particular, the sealant used on coolant sensors and the fittings that connect the oil pressure sensor on the back of the engine. The reason I need it is because I thought I had overtightened the oil pressure sensor(ie stripped threads). So I took the fitting that sensor connect to loose to check the threads. The threads looked great and now I can't tighten it up and have the the oil pressure sensor hole sit in the right location. So I assume that I need that sealer to seal it up and lock the fitting in place.

The only thing I can tell is that it is orange. That stuff must also serve as a type of thread locker, cause it was tough to break loose and now given the same amount of turns I used to take it loose...it will not tighten up. Anyone know anything about that orange thread sealant????

vibra-seal is what comes on the threads, it looks like that permatex stuff is for the aftermarket sevicing as a vibra-seal replacement, so, get some of that permatex stuff and tell us how it works
