My crank pulley split in 2 pieces, crank hub broke, flexplate cracked in about 13 places....

Hmm what else...never had an opti problem or anything like that. I think those are the only problems I had with the motor. The tranny slipped but I got a CPT rebuild and all is good, and I took 3 teeth off my ring gear when I had the stock rear w/3.73s. Moser 12-bolt now and all is good.

I see you went back and edited that post. Here's the thing about the opti: either it works or it doesn't. If it works bad at one RPM, it's going to work bad at ALL rpm's. Since you've indicated that your engine evens out when you rev it up, I'd rule the opti out since it would just run WORSE with more throttle. However since you've also figured out that your water pump is leaking on it, I would replace that (the water pump) ASAP because it'll only be a matter of time and your opti WILL be damaged.

The 93-95's had two O2 sensors. 96-97's had four. The O2's are located in each exhaust manifold. The OEM AC/Delco O2's from GMpartsdirect.com are part #25312184.

Let's see where do I start. I have a 1995 z28. The day I picked it up, it started pissing out coolant so I had to replace the radiator. I was on my way to work one morning and the fuel pump craped out half way there so I got stuck. Then when I was leaving work one day, It wouldn't start. The ignition wires fried up. Then I drove it from FL to NY and back. On the way back in South Carolina, the water pump went and dumped all the coolant out at 12:00 at night. Now the opti-spark is shot. I'm starting to hate this car. What's next?

At 72k miles, I've had to replace the water pump, and I had the common intake oil leak.

2 4l60 transmissions went bad, then #1 main and #1 rod bearings bit the dust on the stock motor.

It wasan't fast enough the way it sat, so I had to tear the motor out and build a Heads and Cam 355. Real PITA.

Re: what problems have you EVER had out of your Lt1???....everyone post

where do i begin...I bought my TA 2 years ago and it was hurtin' (had 160K then). Since then I've done (or had done): rebuilt the transmission, new clutch, new shifter (B&M), new boot for shifter, opti, plugs, wires, radiator and all hoses, water pump, front seals, various sensors, re-tinted windows, replaced fog light, hatch struts, wiperblades, fuel filter, thermostat, re-charged A/C........and the latest??? (at 172K) just bought a fuel pump today and putting it in on/in Monday. Most of the money i've spent/parts replaced, was in the first few months of ownership, it still runs VERY strong after all of the miles and still looks great, I get compliments ALL of the time. Some say i'm crazy, but I LOVE THIS CAR!!
Future fixes are: new front seats (or reapulstered), drivers doorlock missing and the little red light doesn't work, power window motors have almost had it, driver side headlight motor is on the brink.
Future mods are (if I ever get done with the fixes): GMPP polished CAI, catback exhaust, new wheels and maybe a new paint job.....that's it.

I bought this car with the intention of bringing it back to life because it was on it's way to the junkyard, and I just couldn't let that happen.

i hear ya man, it seems when i have enough money to get something new for the car like cai or catback ,headers, whatever .....something breaks and i spend the money on fixing it. my parents think im crazy but i love car too. i figure that if i keep replacing things there wont be anything to go bad anymore.
