Is a fluidamper a harmonic balancer but one that runs silcon fluid between the rings? If you have installed a fluidamper on your car have you noticed the gains?

There are no concentric "rings" on the Fluidampr.... the viscous fluid is inside the housing. You aren't going to "gain" anything by replacing the damper. It is required by NHRA at certain levels because of the danger of the stock cast iron units exploding at higher RPM. And, if you start running your engine over stock RPM's, you may need a damper tuned to the higher RPM's. You will also gain the advantage of a keyed hub, unlike the stock damper, preventing slippage in high HP and blower applications.

I think its sort of a love-hate type of thing.... you either like the ATI SuperDamper, or you like the Fluidampr.
