plus, noone knows this, but you cannot...repeat: can not have the drilled or slotted rotors turned. so if you do warp them, like i have now, you are out of luck. when they warp, you know it better than a solid rotor too. i have such a serious vibration from each slot hitting the pads unevenly that my cd player skips between 55 and 40 mph. sucks bad, but soon im getting the c5 calipers and stock rotors with ebc pads. found a place that sells the calipers for 75 a piece.

I got the performance brake package from Thunder Racing (about 600 after shipping). Came with 4 Powerslot rotors, Hawk pads and steel brake lines. The kit really improved my stopping power, mostly due to the steel lines I think.

I have to agree with Dr. Mudge. Although I replaced my front rotors with the Power Stop and pads with VGX, I believe the SS hose kit made the biggest difference. They cost me $109.29 (last year) S & H included. Try the hoses first then build from there.

Look for WS6_Keith in the nitrous forum (moderator), he's has some experience with cryoing his drilled rotors, I believe he said they last approximately 1/4 the time of a normal rotor even under street driving, without the treatment.

Actually Severous01 you can get the slotted rotors turned. You will just have to find a machine shop in your area that will turn them. Neither Autozone or Pep Boys can do this, but some machine shops can. It's basically the same price as it would be for regular rotors. I think mine were like $.50 more each.

I have the baer kit on my car with stainless lines and it works great. Definately worth the money. IMO.

so yr saying to stay away from these types of rotors then, just buy the stock or soild types of rotors, that would suck to buy the drilled or slot types, and then they cant be turned, the only reason i wanted to buy them was because they look neat on the car, but now after reading this thread ill buy the stock version's

the c4 brakes dont even compare to the ls1 brakes. if you upgrade, get the bear gt brakes, or the c5 brakes. they are basicly the same...pbr dual piston caliper, 13" rotor, and cheap pads, even the brackets(upgrading from stock lt1 brakes) are the same in design. id get the c5 calipers

You can get the required parts directly from GM. They have them in the Performance Parts Catalog. It allows you to bolt up the '96 Vette brakes to the Fbody.
