Weird problem after hooker LT and !EGR install...
I finished installing hooker LT's and !EGR. I fired the car up (open longtubes) to let it heat cycle before I get the true duals welded up. I started it on two or three separate occassions. and it idled fine but it had low vacumn. I unplugged the EGR solenoid and the vac. went up again. I don't know if it was coincidence or if it was the solenoid. Then I removed the solenoid (the valve and flex tube were already gone and blocked off with gaskets and blockoff plates). Now the car will only try to start but it won't quite make it. Is there something I'm missing here? My computer it an OBDI so I thought that there was no tuning issues. Can anybody shed some light on this? Thanks.

Pull the "PCM BAT" fuse for about 30 seconds to clear the long term fuel corrections. If your EGR solenoid was stuck open due to a short, and you had a vacuum leak, it could have screwed up the BLM's for Cell 16, at least if you let it idle long enough to go into closed loop. There's a chance the BLM's are making it start too rich. Clear them and see if it helps.
You also must have had a short in the EGR solenoid wire.... something that caused the solenoid to stay open - assuming the low vacuum really was related to the solenoid. You might want to check and see if there is a short somewhere in the wiring that has taken out a fuse or two.

Thanks fred I will try that and see if it works. That really does sound like the symptoms I am having. It cranked a couple times and I heard it try to fire but it just put putted at around 300 or 400 and then died.
