View my Datamaster file

I have had problems with my camaro and the fans only coming on with the a/c on and if the a/c is not on, they do not come on and the car will overheat if sitting still for a period time.

Reference thread:

https://www.camaroz28.com/forums/sho...ch+of+problems

Bought datamaster and ran it and finally got the file posted on my site...

Please view it and help me make some sense of things.

You are the owner of this web site and you have not uploaded (or incorrectly uploaded) your web site. For information on uploading your web site using FTP client software or web design software, click here for FTP Upload Information.

I notice the address shows it is a ".uni" file. As I suggested earlier, you need to post it as a ".csv" file as well, so people without access to DataMaster can view it. For example, my copy of DataMaster is on a PC where I work, so even if I could download your file I couldn't look at it until Monday.

Just right click on it and save target as in IE or save link as in Firefox.

I already tried that. Gets me to your site. When I right click and "save as" it tells me Windows Exporer can not open the link. And as I said, its a .uni file and that limits the number of people who can look at it even if they can download it. Why not just do a .csv export from DataMaster and post it on a free FTP site? That's what everyone else does.

Alright check it out, I exported as a .csv file so it should just open up in excel or whatever. It is really long cause I tested for a while and revved it a couple of times. I didn't know which columns would be best to export so I just chose the ones that were on the main screen. Tell me if you need more or whatever. Thanks!

Log isnt long enough, according to the pcm the coolant never crossed over about 100f. Why did you terminate the log so quickly. Did your gauge already register that it was overheating when you shut it off?

Your pcm and your gauge get thier info from two seperate sending units. That would account for the difference in what the pcm is seeing vs the gauge. You could even try watching datamaster in the car vs the gauge in real time. Once you're sure they dont agree you're going to have to actually measure the coolant temp with something else to see which sensor is frigged up.

The actual datamaster file will show you when the fan relays are commanded on as well.

Alright I ran it for a long enough time for the gauge to register that I was overheating and I even drove it a little then when it got nearly in the orange on the gauge I turned the A/C on and watched the temperature drop back to normal.

betacortex.com

Click on Datamaster Log and it should work in most spreadsheet programs. Thanks!

If I'm looking at it corrrectly(never saw one of these files before), it only gets to 108.5°C. Which is around 227°F. Not overheating, but still pretty hot.

Still doesn't help you with the fans not coming on, though.

Well it's still over what it should be for when the fans SHOULD kick in.
