valves-zero lash

I want to adjust my valves to zero lash on my 97 Formula. Are there any consequences from doing this? What kind of power could I expect from this, and is this *shoebox's* procedure ONLY applying to aftermarket valves etc.? Or can this be done on stock valves?

If anyone has any good or easier points/suggestions for me, that would be great, or even better ways to turn them.

Re: valves-zero lash

Factory specs recommend 1 full turn past 0 lash. That may be a bit too much for best results, however it is a safe way to go since not everyone finds 0 lash with the same degree of accuracy.

Unless you have aftermarket lifters, I'd say that setting the lash at 0, i.e, no pre load on the lifters would hurt your power since the valves wouldn't be opening as high.JMHO
