trouble starting...new fuel pump

i had a new pump put in not long ago cause it went out ( stutter starting and when tryin to accelerate sometimes then just went out) went campin a couple weeks ago and then drove to my dads and both times on the interstate 1-1.5 hours. both times when i went to start the car the next day it wont start. turns over fine but wont start. also i can smell some fuel so i think it's getting gas.

Best way to verify fuel is to put a fuel pressure gauge on the fuel rail (Schrader valve) and verify you have fuel pressure. Sometimes the car "floods" on start up; hold the gas pedal to the floor and crank the motor. This sends a signal to the computer to reduce the fuel to the injectors on start up.

Fuel pressure gauge is about $40; good tool to own anyway. It will come with a flex line that screws onto the Schrader valve at the back of your fuel rail (like a tire valve). If you think you smell fuel and if you can hear the fuel pump prime when you cycle the key, try holding your foot to the floor first (it's free ).
