Trouble code help
Re: Trouble code help
Wow big news
I was just searching posts here and on ls1tech and I saw that somebody suggested at one point to uplug the maf and see what happens. Well I did and the car RAN GREAT. So a bad maf?

Re: Trouble code help
Oh my goodness wtf is going on
Ok so i decide to put in my old PCM again and see what happens. Again, it won't run without the maf unplugged, so i leave it unplugged and take it for a ride. It runs perfect again. I get home, scan the codes, and the ONLY CODE it gave me was 0100. THATS IT. No egr code, no low ic voltage, nothing. just 0100 for the maf unplugged.
I am so ****ing lost. So is it the PCM tune I got thats screwing with my car?
I apoligize for all the jumping around my posts do. I know nothing about mechanics and im just trying to troubleshoot on my own. Ask me to paint a car, and im your man. But mechanics...ehh...

Re: Trouble code help
Check for air leaks between the MAF and intake (pay special attention to the rubber elbow).
The fact that it runs great without the MAF connected means that the PCM is running in speed density mode which does not use the data from the MAF in the air/fuel calculation. But when you connect the MAF, the PCM is either getting bad data from the MAF, or there is an air leak such that the amount of air coming into the intake does not match the amount of air being reported by the MAF.

Re: Trouble code help
Ok, sorry for lack of updates, but i found the problem(s)
I would only get the 1361 code with the tuned PCM. When I ran my stock PCM, it was fine, no code at all.
For the idle, it was a bad maf (no code though) I replaced it and it still was bad, but the one i replaced it with was bad also, so i got a 3rd one and its fine now.
The 1361 code somehow was only set with the tuned PCM. It makes no sense, but thats what happened. I sent it back to get a re-tune (or new PCM)
Thanks for the help guys, and I appologize for my rambling around.
