Transgo Question

i think i decided on the transgo shift kit over the B&M. anyway i just had a couple of question. i know there are several different settings. how are they done? and once they are done can the settings be changed? also is the shifting much harder if you dont really get on the gas? basically what i'm trying to find out is when i'm in everyday driving are the shift points going to be any different from stock? does the kit work only when you get on it?

shift points don't change..

settings are, for the most part, determined by how many washers are placed in the accumulator housing (I used 2 and am very happy) and can be changed if you want to remove the valve body again in the future... there are other things that determine the firmness of the shift (such as the holes drilled in the separator plate, i called TransGo for recommendations for my setup, they worked great) but mostly the washers in the housing..

hope this helps.

I don't daily drive her anymore, but there are times when I drive it around town and she always comes out on the weekends.

Set at 2 washers it's great... yes, it will still shift firm at part throttle, but won't snap your neck or anything crazy.

I think setting the shifts way too hard (3 washers with stock stall converter) is pointless, what's the point of laying rubber b/w shifts, all it does is slow you down
