I think they do have a speed limiter. When I got LT1 edit and first looked at my PCM, it was limited to 157mph...via the limiters parameters/mph settings for fuel cutoff.
However, on another note...I think all lt1s were set slightly different according to tires, rear gears, tranny, etc...If someone else knows otherwise(like Ion(madwolf))...then lets hear it.
I remember seeing many reports of the auto 94 camaro z28(with the 2.73 gears) going 162-163mph. I think that one reason why some state cops like to use that model for highway patrol cars.

before i put in a corvette servo mine wouldn't shift out of 3rd at full throttle................afterwards i could bury it...........hey it was high school..............so the limiter is in the actual tranny and mine wouldn't go past 120.....with the original 3:23'3 if you wad the 2:73's it would be higher........

trust me. every car (fbody) had a speed limiter on it from the factory. and the highest is 155 some came with 108 i bekieve and i think that was 93 and 94 ( could be mistaken on that though)
you may have bought one that someone had instaled a hypertech and removed the limiter, but if it is stock it 155.
if you have tuner cat look at the stock file on your car in the constance table and it will show the speed limiter. if you dont have a stock file to read i can send you one i got off the net from brents page. but that only if you have the software to read it.
by the way who told you this. a magizine or something.

Yeah it does , I have a road tests on many 93-95 f-bod LT1's in my old car and driver /road and track reviews , Most of them are rated at 160 , some at 150 . Unless like you said they come w/out z-rated tires .

I've never heard of the PCM shutting off the fuel at 155, so i'm not sure where anyone's getting this from. If your car came from the factory with Z rated tires, you do not have a speed limiter. If you have regular tires, your speed limited around 118.
The only time the engine shuts off the fuel is when you hit the REV limiter.
I've had my car over 165 a couple of times and I had stock programming then.
From what I understand you can go 187 with 3:23 gears in it if you don't factor in aero drag and parasitic loss in the drive train. That should be when the car hits the rev limiter.

My stock file said fuel cutoff at 255mph, not ever messed with either. Plus I buried it well past 155 when I first got it, but as soon as you go into 6th it doesnt have enough power to pull anymore and it slows down...not next spring though
