Re: timming problem or ????? need help
The timing can only be changed in two ways... 1) altering the tables in the PCM, or 2) installing the Opti or the timing chain incorrectly. What year is your car? (Adding a "signature" with basic info about your car helps people respond to your questions).
Re: timming problem or ????? need help
pops ocaisonaly at low rpms, and more if u try to power brake, car runs decent at higher rpms, also at idle i just pops once and a while. Is this timming bad plugs or what, t has new 8.5 msd wires so thats not the problem, please give me some info on this

When the Opti (distributor) was replaced, did you verify the harness connectors (both the one to the Opti body and the gray on on the bracket on the passenger side of the intake) were free of corrosion or other damage? This could screw up the optical sensor signals, which affects timing. You did replace the complete Opti, and not just the cap?
Are the wire routed in such a way that they have been burned by the headers? Are you sure you have all the plugs in tight, you didn't break any porcelain, and the wires are pushed on tight? Did you insure there was no corroision on the coil where the coil wire pushes in?
Is the "pop" in the exhaust (misfire), or a true "backfire" into the intake manifold (timing issue, sticking valve)?
