Post depressed cone (sub)

my friends and i have come across a 12" JL Audio sub that a guy said he didn't want anymore, the problem is that the cone is depressed down, and stuck, HARD. we've tried pushing it up with our fingers, like maybe it's just sticky, and we've even pushed from behind through the hole in the magnet with a stick against the cone, all with no avail.

my question is, what would cause it to do that? the cone still has it's shape and doesn't seem to have anything else wrong with it besides that. thanks.

Are you talkin about the cone or the dust cap? If it is in the center and has the JL logo on it in white letters, it is the dust cap. Anyway if it just got pushed in, the sub will work fine. it will just look like crap.
