Timing retard
Timing retard
I know what it is, but what does it feel like? My headers are leaning aginst my tranny, and I think I can feel them rub sometimes when giving, and letting off the gas. My car feels very sluggish down low, then pulls good at around 2800 or so rpm. I have a leak at the header gasket, and egr, but I think timing is being pulled. The tranny feels like its not shifting right, and car goes slow for the amount of throttle I give it. Does it sound like timing issues? I had it scanned couple of months ago, and timing was normal, but we didnt actually drive it. Only revved it. Think it might be knock? Is there a way to tune it out? I have lt4 km, and car is an A4. Anyone help me? Please!!!

Fix the obvious problems.... if you have a header gasktet leak and a leak in the EGR system, the A/F ratio is all screwed up, its running way too rich, and power may suck. Then get the headers away from the tranny. Then...... worry about knock retard. "Tuning it out" would make no sense at all when you have so many obvious problems.
