switched from 2.5" x-pipe to ORY, my thoughts....
just got back from the muffler shop and boy can i say that the exhaust came out real nice. before i had 3" to 2.5" reducers to x-pipe and no mufflers and the car sounded wicked. now i went with ORY and cutout before the axle, well let me just say the car feels a lot slower. before the car would break em loose at anything under 55mph now i just get a little chirp.
the car sounds real quiet now and i can actually hear my stereo now, and with the cutout open the car sounds pretty quiet. made the car sound like it has a small cam, i just need some tuning and the car will feel like its stock again. i'll get a video clip tomorrow afternoon, so till then guys.
BTW this thread might need to be moved to another section.

sorry guys i just read the post and it really didnt make any sense, that's what 3 days of no sleep does to you. all i can say is work sucks!!!
let me clear things up: i ran the x-pipe setup for 2 years, and i just switched to ORY to cutout then a stock LS1 muffler. i must say it looks nice, but the car feels slower than before with cutout open. i guess the x-pipe does make more power than an ORY. only reason i switched was because the sound just got old, so im looking for a sleeper approach now. with the cutout closed the car is dead quiet and the car sounds like its just got bolt ons. all in all im pretty happy now that i can actually think inside the car

this is like the 7th time i change exhaust setups, so really its only a matter of time before i junk it for another setup. also this is my DD so the fact that i dont have cops riding my *** on the weekends is nice. I drive the car a lot more now so its nice to have some quiet time when im on the highway, before the car was real loud at 2500 rpm cruising.

why not just put some mufflers on the TD setup?? magnaflow 4x9 mufflers toned my cammed LS1 w/ TD down almost more than i wanted. and they are fairly low profile.
car is much more fun to drive since i am not afraid to use the loud pedal now...and there was no noticable drop in power.
well for one i just wanted my car to sound real quiet and then open the cutout for fun. but i really enjoy not hearing the exhaust in the cabin, like i said it just gets old. I had bullets before and IMO it sounded still sounded loud, when i removed them the x-pipe sounded a little more bearable. Like i said before it just gets old. check back later on cuz i'll get a sound clip up soon.
