my floor jack is exactly the same way. Do you guys use that black metal tubular bar thing behind the skid plate?

Ive also gotten away with driving up on 12" X 24", 2" tall cement blocks i had laying behind the house, gets the nose about 2 1/2-3" up and clears the jack just enough. Gotta be careful driving up on em though, gotta be rollin a lil or you just push em. I preffer the ramps i bought now.

You mean the K-member? I wouldnt exactly call that thin and flimsy. I jack the whole front of mine up with it all the time. I do use a piece of 2x6 lumber the same length of it just to be safe though but I've jacked it up that way dozens of times with no problems at all. I drive it up on rhino ramps first to get room to jack. I feel safer supporting the car by that than any of the other questionable jacking points up front. Now aftermarket k-members I hear are a no-no to jack by but the stocker is plenty strong.

Guess again, this is one of the strongest pieces on the car.

I do mine the same: side, jackstand, center.

Huh? Been jacking my car (and my old mustang) via the Kmember forever.

Thats one beefy chunk o' metal.

I use a small jack to get it up 2" and then slide my thin aluminum jack under the Kmember. Too bad chevy didnt put a towhook on the front in the middle for us.. ahh well. Sucks I bought that expensive lightweight thin aluminum jack and even it cant do the job w/o some help

I have a low profile jack with a removable handle on it. I put the jack pad in the center of the K member and use a large screwdriver instead of the handle to jack it up for the first 6 inches or so, then I have enough clearance to use the handle.

Ahh, you guys are going about this all wrong and doing it the hard way...I prefer to just pull in my garage and park!

I absolutely LOVE this thing! It's by far the best money I've spent so far, and the guys at Kwiklift are great to work with. For those of us with standard sized garages, this is BETTER than a traditional lift! My car is lowered with Eibachs and has the GM ground effects kit and I still have plenty of clearance driving up onto it. You can break it down and store it along the wall, loan it to a friend, or park flat on it. The rear raises up to make the car level by just using your standard floor jack and the legs pop down.

As far as jacking the front goes, I used to use the stock k-member as well as the side to side method with jackstands all the way up to 24" ones. Now that I've got a bmr tubular k-member, I can't do that anymore. Besides, the kwiklift is MUCH safer.

It's truly an amazing product, and the design/quality is top-notch. It's plain to see that a lot of thought went into this thing...two thumbs up! Check out www.kwiklift.com or email me if you want more info. No affiliation, just a VERY satisfied customer...
