Those with shaft mount rockers
Those with shaft mount rockers
Brands and quality.......
I'm not sure if I should go to a shaft mount or not, what are my advantages and or limits.
I currently have 7/16" Crowers with a girdle.....what are the limits or safe zone with that type set-up?

damn mdaction... is the car running yet? I'm curious as to what it can do now. Seem to have revived your passion for the LT1.
Running Jesel SS shafts here. Quality is second to none. I was running Comp NSA rocker arms and 3/8 stud, and upgraded to the Jesel's. By far the best improvement I have made to the valve train, and actually feel an honest SOTP improvement in the upper RPM's. It has been documented that they give 20 to 25 HP over stud mounts.

My BB bracket motor: 250lbs seat/750lbs open, 7,500rpm. 7/16" studs with girdle, guideplates. Has seen 8,000rpm on occasion, ~100 passes/season. Valves adjusted every 50 passes or so, usually are right on.

Jessel SS shaft mounts here. 225 lbs seat and 600 open. .700 lift cam. My main reason to go shaft mount was because of the lift. I ran into a bit of an issue with the stud mounts not fitting right and I couldnt get them to sit on the valve stem right no matter what I did with push rod length.
The only problem I had with the Jessel rockers is that I could not run studs in the holes under the rockers. Jessel provides you with low profile bolts to use instead. Everything else has studs. Nice rockers, they are easy to adjust as all shaft mounts are.
Probably not 100% necessary for my application but a nice piece of mind. Valve covers were a bit of an issue. I tried several different covers before I found a set that fit right.
