Intake Gasket Questions

I have a 94 LT1 and I just did a top end build on it. When I had my heads rebuilt they had to shave 30 thousandths off because of warpage. Now When I reinstalled the intake there is a gap thick enough to put a quarter in at the front and the back of the intake. How am I going to keep this from leaking oil? Thanks.

The best way is a product called "the right stuff". It will seal it.

It is right at the front and the rear of the block where the intake and block meet.

You might need to slot some of the bolt holes in the intake, too.

Even tho you shaved ur heads, the intake manifold should not have changed positions much less risen any higher, where the front (tb side) and back (egr side) of the manifold meet the block they dont sit metal to metal...this is where you are supposed to seal the manifold with RTV. unlike the 1st gen small blocks, they dont make rubber seals for the LT's, they have the manifold gaskets and then are sealed by high temp rtv silicone. if ur missing this, you will always leak oil, if you didnt seal it, pull the manifold back loose and seal it good.
