thermostats

thermostats

well im getting a new water pump and i need to see what thermostats to get. i had one on my mind which is a "fail safe" thermostat, has anyone tried it? what are your thoughts? what would you recommend?..thanks for your help.

Whatever t'stat you get, it MUST be specifically made for the "reverse cooled" LT1. A generic t'stat will not work correctly.

just orderd one, yeah it was made specific for the car. i think it is a good thing to have, it locks into the open position when it over heats if it should ever fail. the only thing is that, if it fails the engine will run cold cause it stays open.and the result will be horrible gas mileage. so ill know when it goes bad and ill be able to drive it home with no harm to replace it.
