TDC question

I am changing my valve springs. When the #1 cylinder is at TDC, what other cylinders are at TDC? Then, how much do I need to turn the crank to get the other cylinders to TDC. Anyone have an order for me to follow while changing these?

That helps some. Here is what I am thinking I should use. All I am tryig to accomplish is not having the valves fall into the engine. So ccording to this firing order, does that mean I can change the #1 AND the #6 valve springs at the same time? Or is it that only 1 cylinder at a time is at TDC?

"If you want to set the lash by bringing each cylinder to TDC, watch the valves and the pointer on the balancer and follow the Firing order:

1-8-4-3
6-5-7-2
Adjust both intake and exhaust of the cylinder that is at TDC. You will have to make 2 revolutions of the crank, stopping at 1/4 (90º) turn intervals for each cylinder."

Ok, so this is what I have come up with so far. Am I right?

TDC #1- change those valve springs, then turn the crank 90 degrees and change #8, then #4, then #3, etc.

If that is right let me know, then I can get started.

I believe I'd follow that one too.

I've never done springs with the heads on the car though. You may want to feed in some rope through the plug hole to help keep the valves all the way up.

ya, i would do that to make sure each is at TDC but Im lazy. If it is just a hair off of TDC , they wont fall in. I finished teh #1 but need to move on. So I am just going to follow the firing order. Wish me luck.
