Tdc

I'm sorry, i'm sure this has been asked a thousand times.

Installing new lifters and push rods, how do I find tdc? I haven't removed the balancer since the rebuild so if the arrow is up will that be right? I've researched online and everyone has a different way of finding tdc. What would be the easiest way so I can make sure its right?

Thanks in advance

Re: Tdc

I've always used a bent stiff piece of wire through the spark plug hole and the "feel" method.

However if you're replacing lifters and pushrods all you need to see is if the cam is on the base circle. When spinning the engine the lifter should be deepest in it's hole. That's where you'll want to set the valve lash.

Like you said there's a ton of methods to doing it but that's how I've always done it.
