the TB bypass could in no way affect your car's ability to start.. unless you spilled a good deal of coolant on the optispark and you say you didn't. So, my guess is that you simply didn't put the thing back together right. How many times have you had the intake off? Is the intake all you took off to do this?

I would suggest you go back and check all your plug ins to make sure you hooked everything up right. I had the intake off my one time and put it back on in such a rush (routine thing at this point) I forgot to hook the maf sensor up. Car started and died or ran really rough.. so try making sure you hooked the maf sensor back up as well as any other sensors you unplugged.

I bet it's something simple or something else happened completely coincidentle with the TB bypass...

MAF sensor... as noted above... make sure its plugged in. Make sure the prongs in the connector are not bent.

Inlet elbow... make sure you didn't tear it, or fold the lower edge under so it isn't sealing against the throttle body.

Coolant sensor plug on water pump housing... no reason to touch this for TB bypass, but perhaps you knocked the connector off.

Did you happen to disconnect the negative terminal on the battery to do this? One time I was doing a mod and forgot to connect the negative terminal all the way. It was doing the exact same thing.

On my inlet elbow where that tube drops down my tube has a nasty hole in it you think that could be causing it?

You can't have any holes in the intake elbow. Fix it or get a new one. You are intaking air that is not being metered by the MAF.

im talking about that long tube that hangs down below the car. I dont even know what its there for. Its supposed to be a closed sealed tube but mine somehow or another has a hole in it the size of a raquetball. Its run fine before with it there but maybe.

For future reference there should never be any holes in you intake system.. besides letting dusty air in to abrade your heads you also allow air into the engine that the car's computing system doesn't know about and doesn't adjust for.. the car uses the mass air flow sensor (maf) to detect how much air is coming in so it can adjust how much fuel it injects (richness vs. leaness).. having the maf unplugged prevents to computer from knowing a crucial variable in its fuel tables (air intake)... likewise having a big freaking hole in the intake behind the maf sensor causes the same problem (plus the air coming in is unfiltered).

Also, that elbow will likely tear in the near future.. look for tears periodically. When it tears you can replace the elbow with the 1le eblow that looks exactly the same minus the big "doney d*ck" silencer/resonator. Many people consider it a mod I guess.. really it just frees up some space and makes removal of the elbow easier.

In the mean time many people have removed the donkey d*ck and plugged or capped the hole - do a search. A lot of people have used the pert plus shampoo top.. I hear it's a great fit though I can't speak from experience.

Glad you got your problem solved.
