Question Re: tb bypass?

TB bypass...forgive my soundling like a 'noob' if you will..but what exactly is the point/advantages of bypassing the Throttle body? What does this mean? I see a lot of people doing it..but is it worth risking whatever you're bypassing or is this another "more power/air if you descreen the MAF"? lol.
sorry, i just dont understand what you're bypassing and why..thanks for the info...Derek

Re: tb bypass?

the coolant prevents the tb from freezing in winters. you would do a tb bypass to allow cooler airflow into the tb. cooler air is denser meaning more air for a better burn. its good for about 5-7 rwhp i believe.

Re: tb bypass?

Hmmmm.... driven for 5 years, in temps as low as 0degF, and no freezing throttle blades. Maybe a concern for people living north of the Arctic Circle.
