Ive not done it myself but Ive read a few threads where the gasket was stretched over the outside of the pan and worked over the lip into place. Do a search and you may find the threads.

Remove the motor mount bolts and jack the engine up about 3". Remember to remove the oil level sender from the pan before you curse it for not coming down!...LOL The sensor lays above the windage tray, so the pan won't come off with it in. After you jack the engine up, it's not a real big deal. I used an engine hoist to lift the engine from the top, but I suppose you could use a floor jack under the damper to accomplish the same thing.

The windage tray is bolted to your main cap bolts...You don't have to worry about it. Just make sure you take the oil level sender out first.
The damper is the correct name for the "harmonic balancer"...Or, on our cars the bottom pulley.
