Ok, this may be kind of a dumb question but the directions are somewhat thin on the Hotchkiss bar I bought for the 94 Z/28.

Basically I just want to know if it's as simple as taking the nuts off the studs and putting the bar in or is anything under pressure that would come flying apart when the nut is removed ? It looks like the passenger side will be a bit of a pain due to the AC but there does appear to be enough clearance.

Nothing's going to fly off It is pretty tight but doable. It's one of the easiest installs you will ever do IMO.
