Started pulling my motor today, what can i get rid of?

Not to hijack this thread but, what needed to go AC delete, such as, different belt size, anything required to fabricate to still have working defog/heat, etc...

All you need to do is remove the compressor, and replace it with the 1LE "AC delete" pulley assembly. In most cases, the stock belt works, if not, its about a 1/2" difference.

If you leave the heater coil and fan intact, your system will continue to blow hot air for heat and defrost. Defrost will not be as efficient, because it normally runs the AC to knock the moisture out of the air, then reheats it with the heater coil.

I appreciate the info Fred, probably a repetitious question, but is that AC delete pulley hard to find? My air doesn't work anyways, and likely I'm going to be running a '93 car I recently picked up in April's shootout, cam, spray & converter. My 95 is still down and out, unfortunately. Thanks again.

you can get it at your local gm dealer at the parts department.

You COULD try using the cheap ebay one... but I've heard horror stories

also a pulley off of a v-6 fbody works too i hear
