Source for K member bolt?

I managed to loose one of the long K member bolts when I rebuilt my engine.

I called GM and they are 5 bucks a piece and as far as the parts guy knew they came in a bag of 4 and I'll have to buy all 4.

These bolts are a 12 x 1.75 x 92....a pretty odd size.

Last time I was at my local salvage yard they only had V6s to pick over.
Anyone ever heard of a place to get just one bolt?

>bite the bullet and buy new ones... apparently you could always use a spare.

As far as K-member bolts go, I would think the V6 ones would be the same. I really don't see why the dealer would make you buy more than what you needed (plus, they are half that price wholesale). AFAIK, they are priced individually.

Re: Source for K member bolt?

I don't know why they do that either but I can tell you that when you need a pan hard bar bolt...The bolts come in a bag of 5 and they are $2 a piece.
The nuts that mate up to those bolts are sold individually for $5 a piece.
So it would be $35 bucks for 5 bolts and 5 nuts.

It's just plain stupid in my opinion.

I'll have see what I can come up with.

If not Lowe's, a fastener supply store would definitely have what you need, and I think they'll generally sell small quantities (at least the one around here, Columbus, Fasteners, does).

Whatever you do, don't get a common grade bolt.

Re: Source for K member bolt?

I was able to pick up an 8.8 class M12 x 90 bolt from Lowes.

The other five cradle bolts are in place and fastened so 8.8 should do the job shouldn't it.
