Side exit true duals

Definitely doing true duals, most likely with either a fabricated x-pipe or a Dr. gas one, just wondering something real quick...

Could this side exit kit be mounted on an LT1 undercarriage?

Thanx...

IMO, you could get it to work, but that muffler would probably hang a bit low. Plus with all the extra piping and bends, it'd just suck away power with all those extra restrictions.

I always wanted to do a setup like NASCAR uses for the cut-out. I think it would look really clean to route the cutout out the side of the car but I am sure (as stated above) that ground clearance would be a concern.

Really, anything is possible with some creativity, patience, and some custom work. You'll be able to find some way to make it work.

you probably could, but $450 for a muffler and 2 feet of pipe?? You could get some dual exhaust run over the axle for that kind of green...

Side exit wouldn't be real hard for a decent muffler shop to do for you, I would look there first.

Chances are I won't do it, the price isn't practical enough. I'd rather have a 200 dollar x-pipe with resonators and dumps.

I agree. I don't see side exit as being a very hard thing to get done. I know a lot of people aren't very fond of it on a F-Body, and neither am I, but hey, do what YOU like.

I've seen a copuple pictures floating around. I'm running a setup right now that's straight out the sides infront of the rear tires.

I'm actually going to re-building it outta Stainless and modifying it somewhat to be a little different.

I'll try and send you some pictures tonite of what I've got. There are a couple pictures on my website (Red website button), but I don't think there is anything showing the exits.

Anybody got boom tubes like on NASCAR? Those seem like they would be real cool.

If funds allow when I'm doing the true dual project, I might check it out. That's a big "if", though. I don't see how an extra 150 dollars would be justified by a side exit catback that doesn't flow as well as resonators and dumps.
