Need some build up advice
Hey guys, I have a 96 firebird lt1, it's bored out to a 355, I'm trying to get around 500rwhp, I was thinking about getting a set of long tube headers with true dual exhaust, lt1 LE3 ported heads with matching cam and intake, forged Pistons, upgrading suspension (I could use some advice on what to do with suspension), 4.10 gears, does anyone have any input on wether this is actually feesable? Or is it just a pipe dream? Any help is greatly appreciated!!!

Re: Need some build up advice
Since nobody chimed in I'm gonna tell you what I've read on this club from previous posts.LT4 heads, headers ,cold air intake and catback ,Bigger intake manifold, bigger throttle body, good for about 350 hp.Add a cam ,about 429hp.But I don't remember the rear gears being lowered that much.Hey,I'm old now.I thought 383's were the cat's meow.but I dunno. If you have an automatic trans,it can take up to about 400hp before it blows. And the most important thing is the computer tune.It has to know what you are changing.Money buys speed.A blower(If the budget permits) is the easiest and most bang for the buck and you can see 450hp or more, but your suspension will suffer if you try this.
Subframe connectors a must.My02Whew.

If you want your car to be friendly on the street, the only way you'll get to 500rwhp with 355ci is with a power adder. Superchargers, turbochargers, and nitrous are your options.
If you were willing to bore and stroke further, 396ci is attainable with the LT1 block, and from there, full bolt-on parts would get you in the ballpark.
