The coil has been in the car since it was built. Should I replace it? if so what do you guys recommend?

I like my MSD Blaster, I don't really know that would be the coil, but they're cheap so try it

the car only has 1 coil right? Should I get a stock one or dish out a few more bucks for a performance one?

Re: Should I replace the coil??

You'll find people go both ways on coils, some people say it makes no difference some say it does. No one ever provides supporting evidence, some manufactures like MSD make claims that their product is superior however you will not see an increase of power if thats what you are suggesting.

Yes there is only one coil, its located next to the water pump on the drivers side

Also why do you believe the hestitation is due to the coil? It could very well be a number of other things related to your ignition, like the opti for example.

Its cheap, I'd say go ahead and replace it with an aftermarket one if it gives you peace of mind.
