Hey KCFormula,

The Taylor wires in the stock location works great.
I have them on mine for around 70,000 miles now with no problems. They are as good a wire as any.

I had stock taylors too and those were fine, I only had problems when I had to custom crimp my own. The silicon was ripping, etc... It was miserable with taylors crimping tool. Im pretty sure thats where the problems are.

I put Taylor Spiro-PRO 8mm custom fit wires (p/n 74239 for 96/97 FBodies) on my car (stock location) and have not had any problems, even with Longtubes. The P/N for 93-95s is 74226.

I've had Taylors, they didn't last too long, am currently replacing them with MSD wires. I haven't heard any negative comments regarding MSD wires, but I HAVE heard negatory stuff regarding Taylors.

Rodrigues:

dude if your coil is arcing to the block that doesnt usually denote high resistance wires thats just a bad coil. mine did that and then had hard start issues, i replaced the coil and had no problems since.

i've got msd's on the t/a and the malibu i have no trouble from either. i'm running the 9mm accel race wires on my truck which were cut to fits, if you're careful and do it right they're a very nice wire. no problems from them either although i'm not sure about the lt1 wires they make just thought i'd say what i know about them since nobody else has chimed in about em.

Re: Rodrigues:

I was hoping this was the case, I'll just try replacing the coil. Its a fairly new MSD blaster coil too...

i'd just go to autozone and buy a wells thats like a stock replacement but mine came with a lifetime warranty so if it goes south on you you'll get another one and they eat the bad one. its only the coil if its arcing from the case to the block... just a heads up.

I've been using the Taylor 8mm in stock locations for over a year now with zero problems. I went with the pre made stock ones because I've messed with crimping do it yourself wires before and I know what a pita they can be. I think most people that have arching or other issues are running the do it yourself wires.
Just my $.02
