Settle this once and for all

I have constantly heard mixed feelings about Taylor, MSD, Accel and other wires and I was wondering which one is the best? I have the over the valve cover looms and taylor wires but everything is arcing! Also, which part numbers for MSD and accel are the universal 90 degree boots? Do we need HEI or non HEI?

I have not had good experiences with Taylor wires. I would probably try some MSD wires, because I'd like to eventually get a 6AL and a Blaster coil and I'd like to keep it all MSD.

As far as what's been tested to be better, I have no idea

I personally had problems with my Taylor wires arching. Since then I have gone with MSD wires and have not had any issues with them. I forgot the p/n for the MSD wires but make sure when you order them you verify that the wires come with opti ends.

I wonder if they make any cut to fit wires with opti ends. That's what you need. Cut them down and just put the 90* boots on it.

Will these wires be long enough to work with the OVC looms?

Damnit, I just bought some Taylors.

I havent put them on yet, but has anyone had a problem with them when routed in stock locations?

Theres some people running them in the stock looms with success. My taylors and OVC looms are on the way. IMO the MSD and Taylor are good wires. I cant say that about the Accels because I dont know much about them.

I had taylor OVC wires, they were fine, except crimping them at 1 am after a 14 hour day led to problems.
MSD does have a set of wires that are cut to fit,and have the opti ends already installed. They barely work with the SLP OVC looms. I burned a set of them cause they popped out of the loom.
Then i went to a regular set of pre made MSD's,gave up on the OVC setup. More bad luck, and didnt have them tied off right, burned another set.

Now i have a set of Taylor 409's,pre made, they run under the headers, and are just long enough to keep away from everything, work great.

I'm running the Taylors OVC setup with my hookers.. and have no issues what so ever.. Just make sure everything is routed nice, neatly, and away from the header...

Mine are and its arcing at the coil which indicated high resistance in the wires themselves. You can only tell at night time and it cant be good for performance when something arcs.

I have no problems with my Taylors. You could try making a new coil wire if that one ie the only probem.

I have had Taylors in stock looms for a couple of years now and now problems.

When I first installed them, I did have to put dielctric grease on the plug tips because of some arching, but not a problem since.
