Taylors here no problems what so ever, unless you count the pain in the butt opti ends. Trick is wd40.

The 9000 series wires come with a heat reflective coating on the boots that withstands 1000F. Also, the 9000 series are 8mm while the 300+ wires are 8.8. Since you're doing an OTVC setup, I'd go with a universal set of the 300+'s. (The 300+ wires are resistant to 600F, which is plenty.) I've used three sets of them over the years and haven't had the first problem. Another thing I like about the 300+'s is that the silicone skin on the wires is nice and pliable so installing the boots and terminals is a breeze. They also don't dry out like the Taylors and MSD's.

Oh yeah one last thing: out of the 7 layers of different material used to make the 300+ wires, 4 of them are for insulation.

Does the Accel 300+ universal set come with the opti-ends already installed siilar to the MSD universal set? Or do you have to install both ends?

You install both ends. The reason for this is because the universal set comes with a choice of terminals based on what type of distributor you're going to use. But like I said, the terminals and boots are really easy to get on.

Is Thunder Racing the only place to get the Magnecor wires?
Is can find only a precut set for headers. Are these the OTVC ones?
If not, were can I find OTVC Magnecor wires?

Re: searching for the best spark plug wires

What you need is some taylor "409" wires. 10.4 mm thick as sh*# wires.
I ran them on my old SS and never had any problems what so ever. As a matter of fact they were the last wires I ever bought for the car before it was gone. I was running them for about a year or so. Go with Taylor 409's

I ended up goin with the MSD superconductors, but the OTVC routing this time. I am gonna take care of those damn headers eating my wires once and for all!

Re: searching for the best spark plug wires

I had Taylor wires on my old setup and put the MSD wires on the new setup and the only problem I had was that the wires were too close to the headers so I bought wire sleeves to keep them from melting. Other than that, no problems at all.
