Safe to lift front of body off K-member by a Strut Tower Brace?

That's correct the $89 one should be the one.
Just use some good bolts to mount to the shock towers with.

I'm planning on pulling the motor again this winter for a look at, and to rebuild the tranny.

I lifted my body with just a chain and bolts because i don't have a STB. The car body is extremely light in the front end with out the motor or k member attached. My car is back together and working fine so it can be done with out a STB too. I would of gotten a STB but i think it would be a PITA with the Ram Air box too.

Yes it’s allot easier to pull the motor from the bottom .. (plus side is that you can assemble about 95 % of the motor out side including the wiring harness). (Check out my sig to see pictures of what took place)

Pulling it from the top takes allot more effort and you have to tear down half the motor to get it out more time wasted)

I had my engine out in about 2 ½ hours and completely stripped down disassembled (bare block) with a total time of 5 hours …
