How about some pictures of the rockers and where they touch?

This is one reason I don't like aluminum rockers they must always have more material than an alloy or stainless steel rocker. Because of that, many times they are bulky and cause clearance issues, especially the ones that use lower grade aluminum.

What brand rocker is that? Almost looks like a Pro Mag....is it 3/8 or 7/16 stud? If possible, can you get a picture of them installed and lashed on the stud? How much are you lashing them and how are you lashing them? Are you sure you have the flat part of the trunion up and against the poly lock?

Here is a shot of mine. I didn't take it looking at the space between the bottom of the rocker and the stud, but you can see how much space is there. I have 7/16 comp cams studs and 7/16 NSA Comp Cams Pro Mags.

 

That's a Comp Pro Mag for sure, wish I was local to check out the geometry. If all else fails Summit has some budget 3/8 and 7/16 rocker studs for $25.

Is the arm showing wear on the retainer as well?

Iam not sure the brand name but theres no wear anywhere but where the pic. is . The entire problem is using stock 7/16 stock rocker studs and yes i had them installed correct believe me that was first thing i checked , Iam 100% positive if i go to apr or comp stud that it will solve the problem . I took everything apart and waiting on parts so no pics of it installed sorry about that

 

Yeah - looks to me like the retainer is digging into the arm of the rocker as well.

 

No i had a spring break a few months ago and thats what it did to the rocker

 

Ok....point is that we could both see that the rocker is damaged regardless of the cause...and if you're not going to replace that damaged rocker you need to at least polish out those gouges as those are perfect stress risers that will cause a break.

 

Wouldnt polishing out more of the area make it even weaker ?

 

Nope, those gouges left sharp edges that the metal can crack along..stress risers. A smoother area with no sharp edges doesn't have these risers.

That metal is plenty thick and can stand a little polishing without Ill effects.
