replacing a 95 motor with a 97?
Re: replacing a 95 motor with a 97?
You would just have to swap the 95 knock sensor into the 97 engine. You will end up with some unconnected items, like the crank position sensor.
Re: replacing a 95 motor with a 97?
You mean replace the timing cover so you can add the crank sensor/reluctor? You would also have to check the hub for the harmonic damper, since I think the later engines used a shorter hub to make a space for the CKP reluctor gear. And you would hve to use a 96/97 knock sensor. You'll also be missing a lot of hardware for the AIR system and the EVAP system. All of that could be swapped from one engine to the other.
