Just Yanked an Engine Apart - What to Do Now?

I'm just wondering what you guys think about these. The engine has been sitting in someone's carport for who knows how long. I'm wondering what my next step is. I don't know if I'll go with a "refresh" or maybe a "build"... Of course you know I'm on a budget, so I just don't know what to do!!??!!!

Anyway, here are the pics:

Did it run before your dis-assembly?

It appears to have had water in it. The third picture up from the bottom appears to have heated the bearing.
Hard to tell with pictures. How does the crank look?
Take it to somebody local and get an opinion on the machine work then make a decision.

I picked this motor up locally. I don't know if it ran or not...

You're probably right.

I just wish I had a truck to tote this thing around in. Unfortunately, the motor is being built for my truck, so it's not running!

Is that rust?

Drop the stuff off at a machine shop to get cleaned/inspected/measured (unless you have the means), and go from there.

What's your "budget" ?
