I'm curious how the ports have been shaped - there is more than just volume coming into play w/those heads. You guys are definitely breaking new ground.

OK AFR 195 LT4 heads with their competition porting that wasn't so competition ported.

Anyway I take those heads and give them to Eric Bradby and he does his magic. The heads are flowed and then the flow specs are given to Joe Overton who comes up with the custom cam and does the tuning. These guys are EXTREMELY busy people and take work on a case by case basis. In other words it's not like they are out looking for work if you know what I mean. I will also say their work is not cheap but VERY competative with the big name porters WITH BETTER RESULTS!!!

DO NOT call Joe to just pump him for info, that will not work.

Here is Joe's homepage.

Gotta eat more info later.

im gonna have to agree with you there.............but im pretty sure that 114 was when he tuned for 402rwhp, which sounds about right.

if ported lt1 castings can get 400-410rwhp...........then i should hope that AFR 195 LT4 ported castings can get 440-450

otherwise id be pissed i spent all that extra money.

Nope, sorry Drag is boring to me. I may be watching too many LS1 cars zoom buy though, cam swap gives them 114 easy with a 224/224, they have that slight weight and distro advantage too.

400rwhp lt1 guys (still 350ci) seem to trap about 115 from all the timeslips ive seen. maybe someone else will chime in.

I KNEW I forgot to post something!................

Those numbers ARE corrected!!!!!!! Call the guys at the shop and ask. Brett told me specifically to mention that and I forgot. He knew that would come up.

According to other sources in the area this dyno runs LOWER numbers than the dynojet at the other shop. I will throw the car on a dynojet when I get a chnace. Every now and then the dynojet guys have a special and you get 3 runs for $25. I'll hit that and post the numbers when it happens.

As in blower? No. This car has never had a blower or juice to it. I did use to have the regular AFR expensive port job (competition) and a CC306. With the 306 I ran 12.95 @109.97 same weight as now 3750 with like a 2.10 60' never dyno'd the old setup. I knew the numbers weren't there.

From the old vid of Quickshotkimber and I, I would say I put down 350ish to the wheels. Those heads were not all that when new but they are now.

The car has FLP LT's w/ORP and an wideopen Borla on the dyno. AFR heads, LT4 ported intake (yes by Eric ) A CAM Meziere electric WP, Cloyes timing chain. Comp pro mag 1.6 rockers, stock lifters, all the normal bolt-on crap we do. 3.73 gear, even pullies. I'm old and tend to forget. TBB yada, yada.

Ken, I'll bet you're thinking of Shawn Wickerby. Our user names are almost identicle and the cars are too. .....'cept I'm N/A.

Awsome #s Gary. Guys, you're not taking alot of things into account. He has a fully loaded convert with both seats in at the track. It was over 90 degrees that day. He smoked the heck out of his clutch on the second pass, so we knew that he had to baby it. He babied the car out of the hole and rolled into it at about 80 of 90'. This was also before they got the car fully tuned. He went from 419 to 452 when they were finished.
This dyno has been showing a little less than the dynojet in our area and they are corrected #s! I put down 400 on the same dyno with stock tune and broke the straps on the tuned run! My pig ran 11.9s in a 105 heat index this sat at 113. I was cutting 1.7 60fts compared to his 2.0s and he still had more mph. I will send vids to anyone that doubts his car. I beat him by 3 or 4 cars from 40 to 100 with the first setup. It is a whole nother story now. I'll bet they are the second best flowing LT1 heads in the land, next to Joe's of course!
As far as his cam, it's a one of a kind.
