radiator fan chip?
heya guys
quick question.
when i bought my 94 lt1 camaro, the seller said the MIL was on all the time due to n chip he (had) put in to run the fans all the time to keep it cooler longer.
a year or so later i pulled the codes and it did have a cooling/radiator fan code(s), and a couple egr codes.
so i let it be. no performance or drivability issues, no worries.
and since i store it during the winter i dont care how long it takes to heat up.
well things have changed and i need to drive it this winter and it DOES take forever to reach operating temp when outside temp is in teens and below.
so my question is: how can i 'remove' this chip? or more specifially; whats do i need to do to return it to 'factory specs?'
if what im telling ya makes you tilt yer head and say "ummm... what!@?" thats fine. LOL. im just relaying to you what i was told a few years ago.
if it comes down to it, i may end up just diag'ing it normally. ive access to alldata/wiring diagrams at work (im a toyota tech). as it stands, though, im just looking to save some time.
thanks!

yeah, i was kind of afraid of that.
am i correct in my understanding that the 94 camaro ecu/pcm cannot be reflashed/recalibrated? that you actually have to install a physical chip?
basically, if what the seller said is right, i should find something in the fan circuit that should not be there. its not like im going to be chasing a programming feature which i cant see, right?
**edit
and as far as contacting the seller. thats out of the question, unfortunately. this was years ago in a different city that i got my camaro

You have to determine whether you have an "early production" 94 (2 relays) or a "late production" 94 (3 relays), and use the correct part of this diagram to track down the fan wiring (courtesy of Shoebox):
